Afvist: Magnussen afviser at gå i spekulationer om ‘ulykken’ efter…

Kevin Magnussen has rejected the idea that his difficult season with Haas can be simply attributed to “bad luck.” The 31-year-old driver, who will not return to Haas next season, argues that blaming his struggles on bad luck is too simplistic and ultimately unproductive. Instead, he believes that numerous mistakes made throughout the season have significantly hindered his performance.

This year, Magnussen has consistently been outperformed by his teammate Nico Hulkenberg, who currently leads with 22 points compared to Magnussen’s 5 in the drivers’ championship. As a result, the Danish driver now finds himself in a precarious position as he tries to salvage his Formula 1 career. His only realistic options for 2025 are potential seats with Alpine and Stake, where he could possibly team up with Hulkenberg again, but he is not considered a serious contender for either.

Earlier this year, Magnussen described this season as the worst start he has ever experienced. When asked what specifically went wrong, he pointed to the team’s numerous errors. “We’ve made far too many mistakes,” Magnussen admitted to select media, including RacingNews365. He believes the car had much more potential than what has been realized on the track.

Magnussen also highlighted the mental strain caused by repeated setbacks, particularly during qualifying rounds. He explained that it has been especially frustrating to consistently encounter traffic during qualifying, and while he might have previously blamed bad luck, he now sees that mindset as unhelpful. “Many times, I can honestly say that if I could go back and do it again, I would have done it differently,” Magnussen said. “But at the time, you would have said it was bad luck.”

However, Magnussen emphasized that attributing these challenges to bad luck is not useful, insisting that there is always something that could have been done better. His candid assessment reflects a broader frustration with the team’s performance this season and his determination to avoid excuses as he faces an uncertain future in Formula 1.
