sad news: A Life of Promise, Cut Short: Buffalo Says Goodbye to Former Football Phenom

 

Kevon Walker, a former Buffalo high school football standout, tragically passed away at 19. Walker graduated from Canisius High School in June and attended Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania. His sudden death was attributed to sepsis.

The Buffalo community mourns the loss of this talented young athlete. Principal Tom Coppola remembered Walker as a “larger-than-life presence” in the school. Walker’s football coach, Kraig Kurzanski, met with players to discuss honoring Walker and made school counselors available for support.

Saint Francis University held a mass to remember Walker. Athletic Director James Downer stated, “Kevon made a positive impact on the football program and showed promise for a bright future.” The university and community offer condolences to Walker’s family and friends.

Walker’s high school and college football family will deeply miss him. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the football field where he shone.
